Sam Morley, 22, from Audlem is looking for a team of 15 adventurous people to trek the Naro Moru route up Mt Kenya in July 2018 for the charity Dig Deep.

In 2016, Sam led a group of 28 to the summit of Kilimanjaro, raising almost £60 000 for the charity, who operate water and sanitation projects in southwest Kenya and is hoping for similar success next summer up Mt Kenya. He is currently recruiting his team for the arduous 5-day trek, ascending over 5000m through 5 beautiful ecozones with stunning views across the East African landscape.

"I've had lots of interest and good luck messages already." says Sam. "A few people have signed up but I really want a big team to raise as much money as possible for such a great cause. Over the next 9 or 10 months we will work together to fund-raise and prepare physically for the challenge. Each climber has a fundraising target of £2450, which also covers the trip costs. No previous mountain experience is required except a good deal of grit and determination!'

If just one person who reads this gets involved, or tells a friend or family member about it, it could fund a rainwater collection system or a new toilet block for a school of over 100 children.

For a full information pack, you can contact Sam directly via email at sam.morley@fpcr.co.uk or by text to 07928611538. If you'd like to find out more about their work, the charity's website is www.digdeep.org.uk.
