The five Tuesdays of July have come and gone which means our summer road race series has finished for another year and what a successful series it was.

The sun shone every week which meant that the racers were "up for it" and lap times were very quick.

The first two events were held on the longer Hankelow, Woore, Nantwich circuit and each of these were split into under 50 and over 50 races. Close finishes and bunch sprints were the order of the day both weeks.

Burst water mains and the inevitable traffic lights meant that the final three weeks of racing moved onto the shorter circuit of our "National Championship" course.

Three laps, this time taking riders from Audlem towards Burleydam through to Adderley and back into the village. This time we were able to split into 3-age categorised races per week.

All races were fast and very closely contested with the main highlights being race wins for Audlem's Richard Wilkinson and Todd Hotchkiss with great support riding from John Backhouse, Paul Woodrow and Tom Ford.

Other Audlem riders racing in the different age categories were Paul Mason, Mike Wilson, Tim Ball, Ash Cooper, Andras Lazslo and Rob Lockhart who sadly crashed in week one and was unable to race in the rest of the series. Also injured following a crash was Scott Wallace of the Graham Weigh Race Team – we wish them both a full and speedy recovery

Thanks are due to ALL who were in anyway involved in these events – organisers, riders, marshals, lead car drivers, finish line judges, first aid, catering (special thanks here to Audlem Guides) and the patient motorists out on the circuits!

That's not it for racing in Audlem though – Sunday 14th September – we again host the TLI National Championship races. More details to follow shortly.
