On Saturday October 2nd, Audlem Tennis Club is hosting an event in the Public Hall where the main attraction is the Feucht Frohliche Neustadter.
Google translates this, somewhat oddly, as the "wet gay Neustadt" organisation. The FFN was originally established many years ago to market the wines of the Neustadt area of Germany and twelve of these wines will be presented for tasting at the event in Audlem.
However, the event is much more than a wine tasting – there will be music and dancing and those who have been to one of these evenings before say that it can confidently be expected to become very lively!
The group coming to entertain us in the Public Hall is actually from Lincoln, where a branch (indeed the only British branch) of the FFN was established some 20 years ago purely for charitable fund-raising activities.
As well as the wine tasting and entertainment, the ticket price of £17.50 includes a ploughman's supper and disco.
Tickets are available from Clare Henderson (812191), Tessa Duncan (812121) and Debbie Tildesley (812049).
