Charity swim postponed

Barrie and Shelagh Hufton were to have taken part in a Charity Swim in support of the Macmillan Nurses on Saturday – Barrie reports.... 

#Too much water for the swim 
"As you probably know our swim was a 'washout' ! Having taken our campervan to Windermere on Friday (the site flooded overnight) the organisers cancelled the whole of Saturday but hoped those registered to swim today (Sunday) would be able to go ahead . Unfortunately we were not able (nor was anyone else) to transfer to swim today .

#New date 
"Now some good news ; we have been able to register to swim on Sunday July 1st in the 1m British Gas Great Manchester Swim in Salford Quays .So we fulfill our ambition to do it and we do not let our sponsors down .

#MacMillan Nurses
"Everyone, I hope will have heard of Macmillan and the work they do .

"Donations can be made either through reception at the Audlem Surgery or through the secure website : www.justgiving.com/Barrie-Hufton.

"Donations can continue to be made through the same channels for several weeks after the event .All donations no matter what size will be very gratefully received .

#Guess the time
"Some donors – for a pound – might like to have a stab at guessing our aggregate finishing time !  ( in hours/minutes/seconds) A bottle of Single Malt to the winner . The form for this is at reception at the Surgery .This is recorded to the exact second ( believe it or not ) through an electronic chip in our swim hats !
