Over twenty members of AWEG, the Audlem Wildlife & Ecology Group, met in the Lord Combermere last Tuesday.

The meeting heard reports on the various trips to wildlife sites so far this year. These were:

  • Colmere, Woods Lane and Ellesmere in Shropshire on 19th March
  • Martin Mere in Lancashire on 30th April
  • Jackson's Coppice near Eccleshall on 29th May
  • Whixall Moss near Whitchurch on 5th June
  • Llannymynech near Oswestry on 19th June

Future visits were also discussed with Red Rocks at Hoylake on the tip of the Wirral Peninsular next up in the autumn and a winter visit to Marbury Country Park.

The group has also enjoyed a sees of talks with recent ones being by John Vickers on his volunteering work at Cony RSPB reserve and Chris Knibbs on Bees.

The next AWEG meeting is on 21st September at the Lord Combermere.
