It's the next AWEG (Audlem Wildife & Ecology Group) meeting this coming Tuesday, 12th August, at the Lord Combermere, starting at 7.15pm.
AWEG organises visits to interesting wildlife sites. In the past month or so, there have been trips to Melverley Meaadows, with its wide range of wild flowers, and less than eight miles from Audlem, and to Whixall Moss where a conducted tour by local experts identified a selection of butterflies, dragonflies and a slow worm.
The group has also been tackling locally the invasive species Himalayan Balsam over the past two years.
Most meetings, which are held every other month on a Tuesday evening, include a guest speaker. On Tuesday, AWEG member Shirley Burton will be speaking on Botany.
If you are interested in wildlife, you will be made most welcome at these informal meetings which normally last an hour or so.
