It's the Big Day at last, the day Audlem Parish residents go to the polls to register their vote over the Audlem Neighbourhood Plan.
All Audlem Parish residents should have received polling cards or postal votes if they requested them.
Voting at Audlem Public Hall is from 7.00am – 10.00pm today, Thursday 24th March.
Each property in Audlem will already have had a Neighbourhood Plan Newsletter. This contains the vision, objectives and policies of the Audlem Neighbourhood Plan, showing which policies have been amended following Independent Examination.
The purpose of the Newsletter was to allow residents to cast their vote at the referendum having full knowledge of the Neighbourhood Plan.
The question that you will be asked at the referendum is "Do you want Cheshire East Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Audlem to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?"
There will be two voting options -- 'yes' or 'no'. If more than 50% of those voting in the referendum vote 'yes', the Cheshire East Council will be required to 'make' (adopt) the plan as soon as reasonably practical.
The Audlem Neighbourhood Plan will then form part of the statutory development plan for the area. If there is a majority 'no' vote or tied vote, then the neighbourhood plan will not come into legal force.
