Here is some advance news of one of the new and different events at the Audlem Festival this year.

Hosted by our festival friend and performance poet Emma Purshouse, on Thursday 31st May at the Bridge Inn (8.00pm) there will be the first ever Audlem Poetry Slam.

Don't know what that is?

Well... around 15 performance poets will go head to head in a live poetry competition. They have each got three minutes to wow the audience and the invited panel of judges. Three poets will remain to battle it out in the final.

Expect fast moving verse and witty rhymes as they fight it out to be crowned Audlem Slam Champion.

Poets from the West Midlands and the North West have already been signed up and now we are looking for some local entrants.

So, if you fancy your chances... if you think you're bard enough then contact Emma on:

emmaasif@hotmail.com
or 07950 165265.

Oh yes ... and there is a £50 prize for the winner!
