Last Friday, I was invited by Red Shift Radio to take part in their afternoon production. Click hereto listen.

I was able to primarily talk about the Audlem Lass Boat service but also about the many events and attractions which Audlem has to offer, and the Overwater Wheelyboat 'Maughan Lass'.

Secondly, we are looking for potential Skippers and Crew to help us deal with the ever increasing activity with the Audlem Lass Boat Service – anyone who would like more information or is interested in volunteering should contact Campbell Ward on 01270 812430 or email hello@audlemlass.co.uk

On Saturday 9th April the Canal & River Trust has arranged a Task Force Work Party, with the aim of improving the immediate area of the Canal towpath used by the Audlem Lass Boat Service. This is to improve the visibility for those waiting for the boat to arrive and to create a safer area for passengers waiting/disembarking there.

They will also be working in the lock 15 area, tidying the surroundings in readiness for the Heritage work which is scheduled to take place re the refurbishment of the lock hut at lock 15.

It is hoped that as many people as possible will volunteer to help with this work. Those interested should contact Dek Owen on 07771 831340. (See separate story on AudlemOnline today about this Work Party)

The activities begin at 10.00am in the car park at the Shroppie Fly when a briefing will take place.
