Audlem has attracted extensive interest in the press in the last week. Cheshire Life has a two page story under the headline 'England's most caring village' whilst this week's Chronicle covers the Public Hall celebratory evening on 20th January. The Market Drayton Advertiser this week reports on the re-opening of the Lord Combermere and its 'no-smoking' policy, backed by the result from www.audlem.org's Vote Poll on smoking in public places. The 'Beech Guard' story about the Copper Beech is also in the Advertiser saying villagers are determined to avoid an Audlem Chainsaw Massacre. There is another story on the new Teenshelter. Buerton WI is also covered with Rev Helen Chantry as guest speaker talking about her trips to Ethiopia and India with the charity Christian Aid.

The Nantwich Guardian has a picture this week featuring David Andrew, Celia Bloor, Bob Poole, Philip Hesketh and his six month old daughter Ede guarding the Copper Beech in the village centre. The Beech tree story is covered very fully and quotes Bill Consterdine and Mike Hill. The Guardian also has a story on the closure threat to Buerton school.
