Cup tie at Bunbury against Nags Head team. The Presidents Cup, First round.

12 players stated they would be there. Most of the game just ten men. Result. Thrashed 6- 0 .

We do need more commitment from the players or we will be up the proverbial gum tree once more.

Previous Sunday was also a cup tie in the Crewe Vase competition. Called off and given a bye as Goostrey FC pulled out on the Friday.

I pen this some 900 miles away, accordingly I cannot give you my observations personally. So, after a very pleasant lunch in Llafranc by the sparkling blue Mediterranean, my thoughts were not exactly on happenings in Bunbury, Cheshire. Just as well as it turned out, for the score line would have curdled my vino rosado.

Here's to the next game on the 1st of October. A season of mellow fruitfulness begins and with ripened apples and chestnuts. Perhaps we too will ripen and burst into life with a win.
