This annual event will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 30th May as a family part of the big Audlem Music & Arts Festival.

The Carnival began way back in 1812 when it was a quite big affair for country folk to bring their fruits of the year to the Butter Market to sell. Sacks of grain. Haunches of pork. Live hens and pigs. Butters and chesses. Fruits and vegetables And much home brewed ale. And to have lots of jollies over three days.

A baby boom followed nine months later as much ale was swigged and maidens chased o'er filed and gateways.

21st century

It cannot be said that today's Carnival engenders the same rollicking, but folks will still be here with their stalls. Their cakes and all. It is a fine family day and totally free to all.

A super fun fair. The Audlem Youth Club running the beat the goalie game. The Air Force Cadets here. The Nantwich Brass Band and much more.

If you wish to have a stall, then do contact Gwen Moss on 01270 811467 and make your booking.
