A reminder that today, Saturday 3rd October ADAPT Food Group will be holding an Apple Pressing Event under the Buttermarket.

ADAPT has bought equipment for chopping up apples and pressing them for juice which can then be frozen or turned into cider!

You are invited to bring your apples (or pears) to the Buttermarket between 10.00am and 12noon on this morning.

If picked up from the ground, give them a wash first.

Bruised apples are fine, I prefer to cut out any grubs and the larger apples should be cut at least in half. The small ones are easily chopped by the machine.

If you have apples now that will not keep, cut them up and freeze them but defrost before bringing along.

Bring plastic containers to take back your juice and don't forget when freezing that water expands so leave plenty of headroom and the top loose at first.

If you don't want the juice but would like us to collect apples from you, this will be used for our free Christmas punch given out later in the year.

We are now coming to the end of our Saturday Stall Season and would like to thank Alan and Jo for let us use the Lord Combermere carpark and also to all who have come to our stall to buy, speak with us and share the joy of growing your own.
