Congratulations to Geoff Edwards and John Scott! A local band of Audlem bellringers successfully completed a Quarter Peal of Bob Doubles in 38 minutes Friday evening. There were 1260 changes which means that each bell struck that number of times. The ringers were –
1 Christine Johnson (the lightest bell)
2 Geoff Edwards
3 Jackie Thompson
4 John Scott
5 Andrew Bradshaw
6 Chris Hughes (the heaviest bell)

This was to celebrate St James's Day and the 50th anniversary of Geoff and John's first quarter peal at Audlem. We have added up the number of years this particular band has been ringing at Audlem and it comes to 230.

AudlemOnline Geeks department calculates that if Geoff and John have done an hour's practice and a half-hour Sunday peal each week for fifty years, pulling their bell at a rate of 30 times a minute, each of them will have pulled the rope an incredible 6,750,000 times!
