The weather was hardly kind yesterday morning for the RNLI Festival at Overwater Marina but by the afternoon, as the sun made an occasional appearance, the numbers there were perking up.

The Dog Show, compered by the Leonard Brothers, was busy, also helping to build the number of canine passengers on Audlem Lass as it ferried two and four legged custom to and from the Festival.

The Settlers' re-enactments by the Lincoln County Regulators were a major draw too on Saturday evening and on Sunday with a northerly wind ensuring their gunfire exchanges could be heard in Audlem itself.

Owl displays were another highlight yesterday while the many displays in the marquee and boats to explore meant many an excuse to escape the weather – and this just one day before the British Summer is meant to be underway.
