A year of quizzes

In the past year and adding in the quiz nights up the end of the year Mike Haines and I have presented thousands of questions and answers. Plus the tie breaks. And all the preparation that that takes to pull together.

A mammoth task I am sure you will agree. Undertaken just for the fun of it all. And all at the welcoming venue of the Lord Combermere.

Some statistics

• 4000 questions and answers (mostly correct)
• 160 bottles of wine given out
• 200 Vouchers for beers at the bar.
• 6000 sandwiches
• 600 bowls of super Lord C chips

All the sandwiches and chips served free by Jo & Allan – such excellent community minded people.

Charity Night – December 15th

The £1 quiz fee given in over the nights has meant we have sufficient funds to provide a slap up buffet night on December 15th . A night when we will devote the charity of all to the benefit of ADCA – Audlem & District Community Action – who give help so freely to the more elderly and less mobile members of the village and surrounding area. We have the very welcome services of Auctioneer Charlie Foyle to help us get the best deals on the auction lots on offer.

The buffet is of course free to all the quiz players of the year. But if any others wish to join in on this very happy and typical part of the Christmas spirit we have here, then I ask a donation of £6 each .
