Some of the world's best manufacturers will share insights, experience and their vision of the future at a conference in Cheshire East next week.

The Enterprise Excellence Conference, staged by The Manufacturing Institute and held at the Mere Golf Resort and Spa near Knutsford, will feature a world class line-up of award-winning manufacturers from 16 sites in the UK, US and Ireland.

There will be keynote speakers from Abbott Vascular and DePuy, the first ever European winners of the prestigious Shingo Prize for Operational Excellence, as well as fellow winners Rexam, Leyland Trucks and Lake Region Medical. Other delegates are from Rolls-Royce, Unilever, Royal Mint, Syngenta, Jaguar Land Rover, Unisys, Boston Scientific, Lundbeck, Fairphone, Maersk, Cygnet Group and Chemring.

Conference delegates will enjoy a site visit to Bentley Motors in Crewe, one of Cheshire East's world-class manufacturers.

Conference speakers will reveal how they have achieved excellence on the factory floor, in every corner of their enterprise and throughout their supply chain. They will discuss their strategies, challenges and results at every stage of the journey to world-class status.

Dr Julie Madigan, Chief Executive of The Manufacturing Institute, said: "Together we will capture the ingredients required for future success in a volatile global economy."

The Manufacturing Institute is the UK's first educational partner for the Shingo Prize, named after Japanese engineering genius Shigeo Shingo, whose ideas laid the foundations of the Toyota Production System.
