Is the pressure by a determined local resident – and possibly our recent articles on Audlem Online – having an impact?

Audlem resident Peter Oxley tells us:  "I have been in deep discussions with a highway inspector from Cheshire East.

"He assures me that remedial works will begin today on many of the faults I and others have identified. (See list published in yesterday's story)

"He said there would be temporary repairs followed by more in depth / long term work done in the next few weeks."

In the meantime, do report faults and potholes wherever you find them.

Finally, a warning. We are told that the so-called 'watersplash dip' between Little Heath and Corbrook on the A529 just north of Audlem, often covered in water on the east side of the road, hides a nasty pothole that has opened up yet again.
