Ed: Many thanks to Adrian Farrow who was inspired to poetry by the morning moon and sky
I was inspired to jot down a few lines by an early morning walk under the spectacular Audlem Wolf Moon (first visible full moon of January) today.
Full and floodlight bright,
She casts long tree-shadows deep black
And spectral clouds keep station,
Whilst frost-jewelled hedgerows sparkle back.
As the barn owls call out in the pre-dawn quiet,
Across the silver-white carpet fields,
The village sleeps with curtain eyes closed,
Until sunrise, then the Wolf Moon yields.
( Note – photo was not taken over Audlem!)
