Many people, we are told, have expressed an interest in the paintings currently on display in Williams' window. The local newsagents shop is even the subject of one of the paintings, and a splendid piece it is, by Jo Halden.

The artist has produced a number of 'Audlem' paintings including a fine one of the interior of The Old Priest House, a canal painting and one of St James' Church plus a couple of fine landscapes of the 'Rural Landscape of the Audlem Road out of Nantwich.

Jo Halden says: "I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember. I am not formally trained but feel that all practice is training of a sort. In the past I have painted and drawn peoples' children and pets for them, done some signwriting and when fashion called for it I spent many hours decorating the outsides of enamel baths with cherubs and flowers. Thankfully there is no further need for that!

"This year", she adds, "I have decided to make my living as an artist. I take commissions for just about any subject, but I specialise in portraits of people. I use acrylic, oil, pencil or watercolour."

If your interest is aroused by the display in Williams' window, you can check out Jo Halden's work on www.johalden.co.uk or call by phone on 07944 089222.
