Those concerned about the plans to build a Wind Farm to the south east of Audlem may want to attend the meeting in Market Drayton tonight when a special Development Control Committee of North Shropshire District Council will consider the application.

The meeting is at 6.00pm at The Grove School, Newcastle Road, Market Drayton. People who have written to the North Shropshire Council – "the most improved district council in the country", according to their letterhead – received letters notifying them of the meeting. The letter says that the recommendation is that the application to build a wind farm comprising 7 wind turbines, ancillary buildings, estate road and vehicular access off the B5026 be approved.

It's too late to apply to speak but it could well be a lively meeting and it's likely there will be lots of information and discussion on the efficiency of wind farms.

The voting in the Audlem Online Vote Poll asking "Do you agree with building the proposed wind farm south east of Audlem?" shows a majority against. 57% have answered 'No' with '37%' saying 'Yes' and 6% unsure. 212 votes have been cast so far. Voting is still running so if you haven't cast your vote yet, you can do so by clicking on 'Yes', 'No' or 'Unsure' and then on 'Vote Now'.
