Wind farm article

Over the last week, Audlem Online has had an article by local resident Martin Dominic as our top feature – see Home Page and the News Page. Tomorrow, we will publish another 'environmental' feature by another Audlem resident, Roland Hall.

With the Inquiry into the wind farm at Woore much in the news, and which will result in a seven-turbine farm a few miles south east of Audlem if given the go-ahead, Roland asks the pertinent question: 'Are Wind Farms really the future?'

Given that the Woore Inquiry is focussed almost entirely on planning law and the impact of the wind farm on local amenities, broader questions such as whether these farms produce energy efficiently seem to be outside the scope of the inquiry.

Roland's article gives food for thought as to whether we want the countryside to eventually look like our photo.
