Saturday's story (So Men Really Are Different) on Audlem Online about the Buerton WI talk on 'How to Live with a Man' has triggered responses with a long and growing list of things men can do. These include opening jars; doing a proper sliding tackle; sharpening a pencil with a Stanley knife; going to the tip; having a thin bit of wood in the shed solely to stir paint with; carving the roast; winking; taking a newspaper into the loo; knowing which screwdriver is which and, the clincher, making phone calls that last less than a minute.

It does have to be admitted, however, that there is some truth in the suggestion that men are not good at multi-tasking. Except for having the thin bit of wood in the shed, all the above require total concentration and cannot be combined with any other task!
