White Lion Beer and Cider Festival on Saturday (updated)

The White Lion in Hankelow, now owned by Alison and Richard Heath, is holding its Annual Beer & Cider Festival next Saturday.

The Annual Real Ale and Beer Festival is on Saturday 23rd August from 2.00pm until late. Entry is free and all are welcome. As well as a fine range of beers and ciders, there's a marquee, bouncy castle, face painting, hair braiding, a barbeque plus live bands and a disco.

From 1st September, you can also beat the credit crunch and eat at the White Lion for £15 for two pie meals. There is also an introductory offer of £8.50 for the Sunday carvery with a main course and pudding.

For those that haven't yet tried their new menu, one of our regular correspondents says the pub has been transformed for the better and he warmly endorses their excellent home made specialty pies – as that famous student at Greyfriars School would say " They are SCRUMPTIOUS."
