We enjoyed an afternoon outing to Alderford Lake on Sunday with our friend Rick Youle travelling on theOverwater Wheelybus service.
Many local village residents will know that Rick is now confined to a wheelchair, but that doesn't stop himenjoying the opportunity to get out an about and the Wheelybus services enables this to be possible.

The Wheelybus

The Wheelybus is a specially adapted minibus which can carry up to 3 wheelchairs with 3 seated passengers,or up to 11 seated passengers is dedicated to groups containing at least 1 disabled or chronically sickpassenger.

Drivers

The charity has volunteer drivers who are trained to use the safety restraint system to ensure the
wheelchair is fixed securely within the bus.

The Charity

Many local residents will not be aware of the service that is available through the Wheelybus charity, if youwould like to find out more or use the service, please visit the website here.
