We finally have the Wheelyboat back in service at Overwater Marina.
Our first trip was last Wednesday for two residents with their carers from Corbrook Park.
One of the passengers was a very well known and respected gentleman from Audlem, Mr Ron Bradford who will be 100 years old next year, the other passenger was a very nice lady from Hankelow.
Everyone enjoyed the trip around the island within the Marina even though it was a rather windy and then a canal ride up towards Hack Green, then down to Audlem and eventually returned to the Marina. There was lots of discussion regarding the building of the canal and Marina and it's magnificent wild life, and every one including 99 year old Ron provided lots of input.
Afterwards we all retired to the very pleasant Marina cafe for a cup of tea and then all aboard the Wheelybus and return to Corbrook.
We are currently limiting passenger numbers to four, but that does not seem to have dampened enthusiasm. Please spread the word to everyone, especially anyone with mobility or disability issues, to contact John Humphries at John.wistaston@yahoo.co.uk to arrange a trip.
