It appears that the much publicised Audlem Online story on 1st April 2008 about the village voting to become part of Wales has come back to haunt us!

Many in the village have found that the recent Digital Changeover has automatically re-tuned their televisions to BBC Wales. Local conspiracy theorists fear that this is the first sign of an impending boundary change.

To be fair and honest in our reporting, we must add that other TV sets have retuned to BBC Midlands although most of the reports we've heard have featured Welsh TV stations. One household has even had one TV tuned to Wales and the other to the Midlands. Unfortunately, all they want is their news from the North West.

One female resident now receiving BBC Wales reports that she is suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms since being deprived of Gordon Burns on BBC's North West Tonight. So, if any of the production team on the 6.30pm BBC show happen to be reading this, could you please campaign for Audlem's residents to be reunited as soon as possible with North West England – where they belong!

The situation has got so severe, say Williams' newsagents, that many customers have been asking for the Welsh edition of the Radio Times.
