Welcome to Audlem Sign

On Thursday 24th July members of ADAS, in partnership with members of Canal and River Trust (CRT) and volunteers, erected the refurbished WELCOME TO AUDLEM sign on the canal bank opposite the Shroppie, just in time for the gathering of historic boats.

Some time ago the sign had been taken down by CRT, as the wooden frame had become rotten. It then disappeared for a few years. The sign was tracked down to a local foundry where it had been stored.

ADAS designed, commissioned and paid for a new metal frame to hold the sign. ADAS members refurbished the actual sign.

The sign and frame have now been put in place and hopefully residents and visitors will be able to appreciate the re-appearance of this local landmark for many years to come.
