This is a very special week for meat lovers – it's National Butchers' Week. As all his customers will know, Audlem is fortunate to have an independent high quality butcher's shop, so why not pop in to see Charles at C E Vernon in Cheshire Street and buy meat of a quality that's definitely a cut above the rest.

C E Vernon provides high quality, locally sourced beef, lamb and pork. Bacon, ham, sausages, burgers, pies and condiments are also sold as well as a range of frozen foods. Orders are taken for bulk freezer meats. Independent butchers across the country have suffered under the relentless growth of the supermarkets but it's with retailers like Charles that you find real quality and locally sourced meat.

The objective of National Butchers' Week is to encourage consumers to consider the local butcher as their first port of call for all of their meat purchases and to use the butcher's in-depth knowledge on everything from cooking times, to cuts and menu suggestions to improve their own understanding and expand their repertoire of meats and dishes.
