This has been sent into AudlemOnline by a "Concerned Local Resident" who wishes to make other local residents aware of a planned Wedding Venue at The Parkes

Planning reference 21/3505N

A plan has recently been submitted to Cheshire East Council for a Wedding Venue at The Parkes. The application requests a change of use from class C3 (residential) to sui generis (wedding venue) to include the erection of a marquee and associated parking.

The application seeks permission for a large scale Wedding Venue capable of accommodating up to 300 guests, with the hours of operation being between 08:00hrs and 01:00 hrs Monday to Sunday, including Bank Holidays.

Our correspondent's concerns are:-

"This application will undoubtedly have a huge impact on the surrounding residential area and the road network, creating surges in traffic along Audlem Road, Heathfield Road and Monks Lane. Not only will extra traffic and congestion be created by a high volume of wedding guest's vehicles, but also by catering vehicles and all other service vehicles associated with hosting large scale weddings. Monks Lane is a single track country lane, with few passing places and frequently used by joggers, dog walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It is not suitable for high volume traffic.

"The application seeks to obtain permission to stage weddings between 08:00- 01:00 which will place an exceptional noise disturbance to residents along Heathfield Road in the early hours."
