Website's 6th Birthday

Audlem Online was launched six years ago today on 23rd August 2005.

The idea came out of that year's Audlem Parish Plan and a questionnaire distributed to local residents showed strong support for the idea.

Since then, and we hope we are not tempting fate, we have managed to publish at least one new story every single day, indeed over 6,100 news stories so far.

Readership has increased every year too. In 2005 we were delighted with 50 readers in a day and then 100 on the day Audlem won a string of national and regional awards in the Village of the Year competition.

Now, a thousand readers in a day is quite usual and in May this year, over 30,000 readers, or virtually a thousand a day, clicked on.

While the webteam will be raising a glass or three to celebrate our birthday, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all our readers, contributors, photographers and news hounds for all their support during the past six years.
