Website problems this morning – update

Update as at 11.00am
The chatbox has been reinstated, although the "subject" is not necessarily what was originally put in.
The wall-planner calendar has been updated.
We believe that the buy/sell is now OK, but if you have put items up in the last coupl;e of days, please check, and if necessary put them in again (sorry!).
We have recovered the e-mails to the editor.

In the attempt to recover the website as quickly as possible after the "outage" on Sunday and Monday, some problems have arisen as we try to get back to the normal pattern of back-ups.

Although the articles appear not to have been affected, for the moment we have lost

• Chatbox and buy/sell entries that were received between Sunday and Wednesday
• The updated contents of the new Covid-19 information page
• The updated calendar wall-planner (so at the moment this shows lots of events which we know to have been cancelled)
• The online puzzles

From our (the editors') point of view, we have also lost the e-mails received over the "outage" period.

We hope to recover all these things during the day.

Can we take this opportunity to express our thanks to the many readers who have written in with encouraging and sympathetic messages following our recent problems.

We can only apologise again for having blotted the website's copybook, particularly in such a period of social upheaval and crisis.
