The roadkill logoObservant readers of Audlem Online will notice that the much-loved logo which adorned the top left corner of each page has finally been pensioned off. There appeared to be little response to our requests for sensible alternatives so we will go forward with a modern logo-less presentation.

If the site seems not to display correctly, try holding down the control key and pressing the F5 key which will ensure that a full reload of the display takes place.

AbuyThe menu bar now includes a sizzling new feature, known as Abuy, the Audlem Online buy/sell feature. This allows readers to advertise items for sale, wanted or available for freecycle.

A list of such items will appear if the buy/sell entry on the top menu bar is clicked. Then clicking on any individual entry brings up more details about the item, together with a button to click to request further details from the original advertiser.

The e-mail addresses or telephone numbers of those placing or responding to the advertisements are not displayed. The webteam will moderate advertisements entered on the site, primarily to try to stop Abuy being hi-jacked by traders or businesses.

We would be delighted if people would try to use this new feature and let us know how successful it turns out to be, or how it might be improved.

Home tuitionThere were rather too many entries on the "Home Services" menu within "Organisations/Businesses", so a new menu called "Home Tuition" has been createdand those entries relating to tuition now appear on that menu.

QuickInfoThe team felt that there would be some benefit in having a way to get to certain specific items of information more quickly and intuitively than the menu dropdown system easily provides.

So a new button called "QuickInfo" now appears on the Home page, giving easy access to such things as shop opening hours, transport information etc. This does mean that there is some duplication in the possible routes to information, but this in itself does not really matter.

It will be a little while before all the information in the section has been completed, so please bear with us while this is done.

Again we would be interested in readers' reactions to this new feature.
