Audlem's 2nd XI season drew to a close on Sunday with the drawn encounter with Trinity at Bramhall. Neither side could force a result due to the overs lost to rain in what has become a regular feature of the summer.

The highlight of Audlem's innings was the 104 run partnership between father and son Norman and James Hindle which formed the backbone of the innings. A fine 55 not out by Steve Swallow, ably supported by vice-captain John Eve took the total to 215 – 5 off the allotted overs.

Trinity set about the target with gusto after losing two quick wickets cheaply with captain Ian Coats striking a fine 81 not out and B Sellars chipping in with 32. But, just as the game was finely poised, the storm clouds arrived and valuable time was lost.

Trinity's innings finished on 162 – 4 in semi-darkness. Audlem's points tally was 12 to Trinity's 6 points.
