The winner of the competition to re-name the Parish Council Newslettter can be revealed as David Latchford, and yesterday he was presented with his prize by Kate Down, Chairman of Audlem Parish Council.

Thank you to all who sent in an entry.  Over twenty were received and it was hard for the judges, Kira Nicholls (Editor of the Newsletter) and Pam Seddon (Parish Councillor with responsibility for communications) to pick a winner.   David’s entry however, stood out.  He suggested the new title should be “Around Audlem” and he even produced a sketch showing the design he had in mind.  Kira will now be working to create a new heading incorporating the brand new look in time for the next edition which is due to appear in August.

Rceiving his prize, David acknowledged the help he had received from Sarah Jealouse in coming up with the design.  He also thanked Kira and the Parish Council for arranging the competition.   From left to right, the picture shows: Kira Nicholls, Sarah Jealouse,  Pam Seddon, David Latchford and Kate Down.

David received a family ticket worth £32 (for two adults and two children) to attend the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Party in the Park event on 7 July.   These were kindly donated by ASET (Audlem Special Events Team) who are organising the summer spectacular.  The Party on the Park promises to be an occasion not to be missed featuring a line up which includes:

QEII – Playing Queen's Greatest Hits

Sincerely Abba – The Dancing Queens

This is Bublé – Michael Bublé: The Prince of Swing

and the legendary fireworks finale

Tickets are still available from the Post Office.
