Reported in this week's newspapers: Parents who presently drive their children to school could save on average £642 a year according to the charity Sustrans.

It reckons that collectively parents across Britain could save £2bn if they ditched the car and instead walked or cycled to school.

Of course the vital point is to find a safe route. ADAPT has asked the Parish Council about removing the No cycling signs on footpaths in the village – they could be changed to 'pedestrian priority'.

I think this may have been passed onto the Local Authority but nothing has been heard back.
I think this is worth bringing to the attention of readers!
