The JiggleJOGLE cyclists rode proudly into Audlem yesterday to a warm welcome at the Methodist Church. Ben, Barnaby and Emily, the three cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End, arrived to cheers, banners and balloons and were accompanied by supporters on their cycles.

Our thanks to Andrew Gunstone for the photos of their arrival in the village.

The ride is in memory of John Crompton, who was heavily involved with the Methodist Church and directed several of the popular musical productions which take place there each year.

In April 2007, John died very suddenly from a rare form of Leukaemia. Three years on, his two sons Ben and Barnaby, along with Ben's girlfriend Emily have set out to raise money for Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research in their Father's memory.

Their three week challenge has been to cycle from John O'Groats to Land's End, a truly amazing feat which began at John O'Groats on 26th July where they were sent on their way live on the Chris Evans BBC Radio 2 morning show.

The event named JiggleJOGLE ('JOGLE' standing for John O'Groats to Land's End!) has its own website where you can follow the intrepid trio as they make their way down the length of the country. www.jiggleJOGLE.co.uk" rel="nofollow">www.jiggleJOGLE.co.uk

They've had some tough days, including the climb over the Kirkstone Pass in the Lake District and Friday's ride from Preston to Chester which involved repairing six punctures. Yesterday's stage was from the Britannia Stadium in Stoke to Shrewsbury via Audlem.

Audlem Online congratulates the trio on all they have achieved so far and wish them all the best for the tough journey ahead.
