Regular readers will recall the plea from Dave Martin asking if the OverWater marina seaplane might be available to rescue him and others marooned as a result of the volcanic ash problem. The good news is that they are now safely back in Audlem. Dave says:

"Got back from China last night: 30 hour journey via Amsterdam, with a 6 day delay in Hong Kong (we'd already been there 4 days). So it got a bit boring, but we were much better off than many, and KLM looked after us well (and paid the hotel bills, unlike Ryanair!).

We were the first European flight out of Hong Kong, and first UK flight out of Amsterdam, so had to hope they got it right over the dust.

Not doing anything that requires serious thinking for the next 24 hours or so."

Welcome home and thanks for keeping us all entertained with your call for the seaplane.
