(The website link that was here no longer works) The voting cast so far cast on the Audlem Online Vote Poll asking "Do you think it's important for Audlem to retain its own GP practice?", is showing an overwhelming 'Yes' vote. If you feel strongly about this issue, please do cast your vote.

You can vote by clicking on 'Yes', 'No' or 'Unsure' and then on 'Vote Now'. Do cast your vote on this important issue which is now attracting national attention as the plans to introduce so-called polyclinics becomes more widely discussed. The Kings Fund has urged Government ministers to make it abundantly clear that there will be no compulsion on local NHS organisations to erect buildings or follow this or any other centrally dictated model of care.

Polyclinics, they say, may be the right answer in some areas, but they will not be right for others. That should be a matter to be decided locally on a case-by-case basis using the best clinical evidence available together with a full assessment of the costs and the impact on patient access. The report singles out rural areas as not suiting polyclinics.

The Audlem practice's own petition attracted over 500 signatures and they have been forwarded to the national campaign on this important issue on local services. The Audlem Online Vote Poll will help reinforce the message of how strong local opinion is.
