Last Saturday, at Audlem, we held a Volunteer Lock-Keeper Best-Practice day for Volunteer Lock-Keepers and a recruitment day for new volunteers interested in taking on this historic and iconic role.
The day was a fantastic success with no fewer that 18 people attending along with several new recruits.
The purpose of the day was to also up-skill our existing and long-serving Volunteer Lock-Keepers, refresh assessments and share best practice.
Some of the Volunteers, and staff alike, talked through incidents which they had assisted in sorting out or had prevented by their actions. We looked at safety improvements and customer satisfaction with our work.
The photo shows a demonstration on best practice.
