Ralph Warburton has sent the following report on the Christmas lights that were switched on yesterday. He writes: "ADAS lit up the village on Saturday with the Big Christmas tree and all the small ones. When we finish the work – lighting the trees in the Lord Combermere flower bed – there will be 10,000 light bulbs alight in the trees making for the best display in South Cheshire. Huge thanks to Mike & Pam Hill who have sponsored the Big Tree for their grandson Riley; to Chris & Terry Clarkson who have generously sponsored the displays in memory of their son Alistair; and to Paul Williams of Wistaston who gave us the big tree from his own plantation."
"David Rowe turned up as a very willing volunteer having seen the detail on the web site and the big tree was again put up by John Davies and Jonathan Gleave – all giving their time free to help us in ADAS make Audlem look so nice for residents and visitors alike."
"Now to finish planting up some 1,000 tulips and 500 forget-me-nots to give us a fine spring display next year – adding to the 1,000 daffodils planted last week at Vicarage Gardens. Once the Muller Development is finished, we plan to enhance the ground around the big copper beech tree – lots of ideas on this one. Maybe residents would like to give their own suggestions too."
"A big thank you to those committee members who also gave up their Saturday for this worthwhile task."
