The organising committee of the Audlem Village fete would like to extend their gratitude to the numerous volunteers, contributors and sponsors who helped make the day a massive success. Notably a huge thank you to EVERYONE who attended; your participation is key to supporting the community and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

A special mention goes to Ralph Warburton, who opened the fete, John Baker for his help with the auction and Maria Bull who had the immensely difficult job of judging the Dog Show. Also the very talented Becky for her outstanding art work and graphic design; Simon Gleave for use of his trailer, ASET and Ian Jones (Hankelow fete) for the loan of their marquees and games, and the Scouts and Guide hallfor the use of their catering items and tables. Thanks must also go to the villagers who made and donated an amazing and delicious array of cakes, which helped to make the tea tent exceedingly popular. I must also make a special mention here of the back room staff: Dave and Phillipa, who were endlessly boiling water and washing up.

The astounding number of people who volunteered their time, energy and resources confirms what we already knew about our village; that people love to live here and will go the extra mile to continue to make this a place we all love, be proud of, and have fun.

The fete was a labour of love for the small fete committee: Vanda Clemes, Aly Berman, Ceri Parsons, David Latchford, Janet Warrington, Irene Price, Jim Sutton and Dave, whose constant commitment and extremely hard work helped make the day such a success. It must be said, that a great sense of humour helped with the inevitable ups and downs of organising something on this scale for the first time and we are incredibly proud that we pulled it off. The attendance and joie de vivre was incredible; and it was especially rewarding on the day, and after, to receive so many thanks and congratulations. It made it all worthwhile.

Primarily planned as a village fete, any profit is a bonus, and will be used to benefit the community. An update of total proceeds will be published shortly.
