From Lynne Smith "Over the last few months people in the village have been experiencing vandalism and intimidation from young people hanging around after dark.

"Last night the Christmas lights at the Post Office, were torn down by three people at 9.10 pm, CCTV is being studied to identify them.

"There has been damage to the  football pitch, the bowling green, digging in the church yard and mud and stones thrown at passing cars, property and people throughout the village.  Many incidents have gone unreported and unfortunately the police have said that they cannot act unless they receive a certain number of complaints so I urge anybody who sees anything to pick up the phone and report it to Cheshire police so that these idiots can be dealt with and stopped from carrying out any further damage.

"We have a lovely village which is looking stunning at the moment with the festive lights and trees, don't let them spoil it."

#Reporting problems
A full description of when and how to call the new 101 telephone number is contained in the Services/Police page of the website. 101 calls are charged at a flat rate of 15p by the telephone suppliers.

Briefly, you should call 101 to report crime and other concerns that do not require an emergency response.

You can also use contact telephone number: 0845 458 6378 (This number is for Nantwich police station giving you the facility to leave messages for officers and not to request a police response to an incident)
