Members of ADAS, with technical support, are working hard today to restore the thousands of lights on the Christmas tree in the Square in time for the New Year's Eve celebrations tonight.
Vandals attacked the tree late last night and, according to ADAS, have managed to take out about 2,000 of the 2,700 lights that have been such a spectacle through the Festive season.
There was, according to another source, a good bit of noise in the early hours when the damage was probably caused. If anybody saw anything that might identify the culprits, please let PC Ken Maple know.
