Update on Lock 10 Vandalism

CRT didn't say it, but the vandal knew exactly what (s)he was doing and my guess have been quite strong.

He had to have come prepared with a lump hammer and – perhaps- bolt cutters. The CRT man (at 07.30 this morning) was worried that there might have been other locks given similar treatment. I believe one occupant of the boat was trapped (she couldn't climb the lock ladder). At least the (hire) boat captain seemed to have been boating before.

The way the vandal damaged the lock did not simply cause inconvenience, but if the boater had been a novice, single handed, or had a short boat or a 'plastic' boat one of the gates could have fallen heavily on the boat. (as you might have gathered I've a narrow boat!)
