Update on 'cat killed by greyhounds'

Lin Davis has sent in to the Chatbox an update on the death of her cat, killed by two greyhounds in Buerton – see yesterday's news on AudlemOnline.

Lin says: "I am saddened to advise that when this was reported to the RSPCA, they advised they would not be investigating the incident. 'It was only cat that had been killed by a dog'. They would not be speaking to the owner of the dogs. The RSPCA advised that the police should deal with the matter.

"They did not feel that the owner had been cruel and would not comment on the fact that he had been unable to control his dogs, and that my cat had died a horrible and agonising death.

"Basically, the RSPCA did not want to know! This really surprised me as I would have thought that the RSPCA would be concerned about this, and would want to prevent any further potential problems."
