Cheshire East refuses to re-think plans on £56 green waste charge

Last week, I attended and spoke at a private meeting called by representatives of Cheshire East Council, to consider 'our challenge' to the Labour/Independent administration's £56 proposed green bin waste charge. I hoped that the obvious flaws in the decision-making process would be acknowledged, so was disappointed to receive the Head of Legal's report late last Friday dismissing our concerns.

This raises many questions, including what happens now? Cheshire East are now in the process of issuing guidance as to next steps irrespective of whether you opt in or out! I will also share this shortly. In addition I am more than happy to hold 'local drop in sessions' to answer questions and hear your views.
