This Sunday, we began our preseason schedule with a friendly game – versus AO of Crewe . That big trading company of products on line.

We will play each weekend now right through to the actual start of the 2021/2022 season on the 29th of August .

AO had brought together a team of some 16 players, many of them from Romania, and we loaned them a full strip fir the match.

A fine turn out of Audlem players was had as so many were keen to get going again .
All on all 15 men were here , with players signing on for the new season.
Referree David Bloor agreed to officiate .

We kicked off at 11.00 as the bells of St James fell silent. Fine weather. Pitch in reasonable order.
(We had to cut the grass ourselves and mark out the lines too as Cheshire East were unable to do so for us. )

Usual fast start as the testosterone got going from the very first whistle.
Suffice to say there was not much "friendly" about the play. Each side seeking to win!
Sun here for us and a goodly smattering of spectators too.

0-1

11:08 And blow me down , AO score!

On we play as advantage swings to and fro. One of our players is booked and sin binned by the Ref – too much to say fir himself .

1-1

We score. All the way to half time and honours even.
A short break as subs played by both sides.
Our Sponsors, the Bridge Inn, alerted to the fact that some 30 players would be coming over at full time, thirsty fir the lagers and to have the chip butties .
Then .

2-1

1158We score as Dan Rooney hits the target

3-1

Then Ben Walker fires one home

4-1

Followed by Kev Mort scoring.

4-2

Game finishes with AO scoring to make it 4-2 .
Good game. Good start .
Next Sunday a repeat as we have the game at home, playing AO again .
A trophy presented to Adam Rodda of The Bridge Inn – as our thanks for his very welcome Sponsorship.
