Two more great films coming to the Public Hall

Make a note of the next Audlem film night in the Public Hall – it will be on Saturday 20th October when there are two great films to choose from – The Simpsons Movie at 5.00pm and then Hairspray at 7.30pm.

The Simpsons Movie is, of course, based on the TV series and has a very clever plot and non-stop irreverent humour. Suffice to say that Homer acts quite heroically, so much so that he rides off with Marge on a motorbike into the sunset! It has been very well received and should be great viewing for young and old alike.

Hairspray has also been hugely successful and is the third largest grossing musical in American cinema history. It's an adaptation of the Tony Award-winning 2002 Broadway musical of the same name. Set in 1962 Baltimore, the film follows a "pleasantly-plump" teen named Tracy Turnblad as she simultaneously pursues stardom as a dancer on a local TV show and rallies against racial segregation. The film stars John Travolta, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken and Amanda Bynes and introduces newcomer Nikki Blonsky as Tracy Turnblad.
