Turnpike Field Putting Green !

Looking at all of the white flags halfway down the field it did look like a golf practise -- now thats a use of the field that definitely didn't get many votes!!

Actually is was a group of volunteers who had donated saplings and were planting them! Almost two weeks ago, Adrian had carefully planned the location of the different saplings -- ash, sweet chestnut, birch and several other varieties -- very carefully to ensure that they were appropriate for the field. The rest of us simply dug a few holes!

Many thanks to all of those who donated the trees and for their time -- hopefully in a few years time, their efforts will be much more visible.
